Day 43: Math 6 - Introduce Topic Four (Equations and Inequalities) / Math 6+ - Topic Three Post-test

Math 6 students worked with the vocabulary for Topic Four - Represent and Solve Equations and Inequalities using the flashcards that Mr. Giomini made using Quizlet. Students worked with peers to create basis equations using blocks or Legos.

Math 6+ students complete the Topic Three Post-test.

Math 6+ students use a lot of brain power on assessments.

Math 6+ assessments make me happy!
Standards addressed during today's lessons:
Math 6:
  • Understand solving an equation or inequality as a process of answering a question: which values from a specified set, if any, make the equation or inequality true? Use substitution to determine whether a given number in a specified set makes an equation or inequality true.
Math 6+:
  • Understand solving an equation or inequality as a process of answering a question: which values from a specified set, if any, make the equation or inequality true? Use substitution to determine whether a given number in a specified set makes an equation or inequality true.
  • Use variables to represent numbers and write expressions when solving a real-world or mathematical problem; understand that a variable can represent an unknown number, or, depending on the purpose at hand, any number in a specified set.
