Day 34: Order of Operations Continued

Today in Math 6 and Math 6+, students continued their work with Lesson 3.3: Write and Evaluate Numerical Expressions. With Wednesday's Midpoint Quiz coming, students continued to develop their fluency with order of operation calculations and real-world application based word problems.

In order to be successful with today's skill, students needed to be fluent with their math facts as well as having a solid foundation with exponents, fractions, and decimals.

Lesson Objectives: The student will be able to...
  • fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide multi-digit decimals using the standard algorithm for each operation.
  • find the greatest common factor of two whole numbers less than or equal to 100 and the least common multiple of two whole numbers less than or equal to 12.
  • interpret and compute quotients of fractions.
