Day 19: Absolute Value

Today in Math 6 and Math 6+ both worked with Lesson 2.3: Absolute Value of Rational Numbers. Mr. Giomini explained that absolute value measures distance from zero. It is always positive since you cannot travel a negative distance.

In this lesson, students will be able to...
  • extend their understanding of numbers to include absolute values.
  • interpret the meaning of absolute values in real-world situations and distinguish comparisons of absolute value from statements about order.
