Day 79: Application of Ratios / Review for Test / Application of Ratios

Today in Math 6: 1 & 3°, students began reviewing skills from Concept Four: Rates, Ratios, and Proportions in preparation for the posttest which is on Thursday, January 7th.

During Math 6 - 2°, students worked both independently and with a partner for alternating time periods on reviewing for the Topic Five posttest on Tuesday, January 5th.

Students in Math 6+ began preparing for the Concept Four posttest which is on Wednesday, January 6th by working with real-world based problems that help with the application of skills from rates, ratios, and proportions.

Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...
  1. create and solve a proportion for problems dealing with indirect measurement.  (1 & 3°)
  2. analyze the relationship between dependent and independent variables using graphs and tables. (2°)
  3. graph linear equations. (2°)
  4. use variables to represent two quantities in a real-world problem that change in relationship to one another.  (2°)
  5. make tables of equivalent ratios relating quantities with whole-number measurements. (7°)
  6. find missing values in tables and plot pairs of values on the coordinate plane.  (7°)
  7. fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers using the standard algorithm for each operation. (all classes)
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to complete:
  1. Math 6(1&3°): Night off
  2. Math 6(2°): Night off
  3. Math 6+: Night off
  4. All Classes: > 10 minutes meaningful practice at Khan Academy
