Day 78: Indirect Measurement / Continue to Graph Equations / Ratios, Tables, and Graphs

Today in Math 6: 1 & 3°, students began work with indirect measurement.

During Math 6 - 2°, students worked with Lesson 5.5: Continue to Graph Equations which built upon previous lessons.  Students analyzed graphs that were provided to solve mathematical and real-world problems.

Students in Math 6+ analyzed tables with given data.  From the table's information, the students completed the table as well as graphed data.

Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...
  1. create and solve a proportion for problems dealing with indirect measurement.  (1 & 3°)
  2. analyze the relationship between dependent and independent variables using graphs and tables. (2°)
  3. graph linear equations. (2°)
  4. use variables to represent two quantities in a real-world problem that change in relationship to one another.  (2°)
  5. make tables of equivalent ratios relating quantities with whole-number measurements. (7°)
  6. find missing values in tables and plot pairs of values on the coordinate plane.  (7°)
  7. fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers using the standard algorithm for each operation. (all classes)
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to complete:
  1. Math 6(1&3°): Page 56 (1 - 6)
  2. Math 6(2°): Pages 255 and 256
  3. Math 6+: Handout from Mr. Giomini
  4. All Classes: > 10 minutes meaningful practice at Khan Academy
