Class Topics: 11.14.12

In Math Six today, students reviewed their Evening Practice from last night with Mr. Giomini.  Questions were posed to students to help prepare for Friday's posttest.  Once that was completed, Lesson 1.8: Graphing on a Coordinate Plane was introduced.  After completing the Reteach as a class, students collaborated with an assigned peer to complete 1.8 Practice A.
Today's Learning Goals: The student will be able to...
  1. use an equation such as y = 3x - 5 and given values for x to determine the ordered pairs.
  2. graph points and lines on a coordinate plane.

  1. complete Lesson 1.8 Practice A.

In Pre-Algebra today, students studied additional scenarios and identified the population, sample and sampling method.  Students then reviewed a stem-and-leaf plot and how its main use it to organize data.  With a colleague, students constructed an appropriate table to display data.  Inferences were developed regarding the data.

  1. review pages 179 and 180 and complete numbers 5, 6, 15 and 18 - 24 on pages 181 - 183.
