Class Topics: 10.23.12

In Math Six today, students reviewed their Evening Practice with Mr. Giomini.  We then began Lesson 1-3: Solving Equations by Adding and Subtracting.  The Plan of Attack was modeled by Mr. Giomini: Simplify - Isolate - Solve - Check.  The term inverse operation was utilized as we solved the various equations.

2. check solutions to make sure that they make the equation true.

In Pre-Algebra today, students reviewed their Evening Practice in class.  Once a firmer understanding of adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators was attained, we began Lesson 3-6: Solving Equations with Rational Numbers.  This lesson used both chapter one and chapter two as the foundation to build upon and further up the rigor when working with equations.
