Class Topics: 09.12.12

In Math Six today, students collaborated with peers in small learning stations to review material for the Unit One Summative Post-test which will take place on Thursday and Friday of this week.
Today's Learning Intentions: The student will be able to...
  1. analyze data and determine that data set's measure of central tendency.
  2. explain why either the mean or median is a better representation for a data set.
  3. construct various graphs that are appropriate for the data.
  4. communicate using appropriate mathematical vocabulary.
For Evening Practice, it is suggested that the student...
  • review their notebooks for examples.
  • view videos previously posted to the blog.
  • dialogue with a peer to develop a deeper understanding of concepts.

In Pre-Algebra today, students should have completed their Chapter One Summative Post-test.  Please refer to Gradebook Wizard to check for your grade and comments.

Today's Learning Intentions: The student will be able to...
  1. evaluate algebraic expressions and equations.
  2. write algebraic equations when given information in a story problem.
  3. solve and graph algebraic inequalities.
  4. graph ordered pairs.
  5. explain why an ordered pair is or isn't a solution to an equation.
  6. determine whether an ordered pair is a solution for an algebraic equation.
  7. interpret data presented in a table or graph and develop inferences from that information.
For Evening Practice, it is suggested that the student ...
