Their is a 65% chance that blue will not be choose, and their is a 35% chance of blue being chosen.
ReplyDeleteNoah Wymer
The probability is 29/38. I got this by first adding all three of the numbers together to get the whole. Then, since you had to find out what it was without blue, I added 16 by 13 to get 29. 29/38.
ReplyDeleteHEY MR GIOMINI I ADDED ALL THE MARBLES TOGETHER AND GOT 38 I PUT THAT FOR MY DENOMINATER. FOR MY NUMERATER I KNEW THAT THERE WAS 13 BLUES SO I PUT THAT FOR MY DENOMINATOR.

The probability of not choosing a blue marble is 25/38 because if you add all of the marbles up ( 16, 13, and 9 ) you get 38 and if you subtract 13 ( because that is the number of blue marbles in the jar ) you get 25 so you get 25/38.

ReplyDeleteMr. Giomini,
ReplyDeleteThe probability that that the marble drawn will NOT be blue is 25/38. I got this answer by first adding 16 + 13 + 9 = 38. Then I took the number of blue marbles (13) and subtracted that from 38. After that I got 28. Finally I found my final answer of 25/38.

The probibility of you picking 16 black and 9 purple ones would be 25/38. 16+9=25 16+13+9=38 marbles total. 25/38 cannot be reduced therefore the answer is 25/38 without picking any green marbles.(38-25=13) for 13 green marbles.

Mr Giomini,
ReplyDeleteThe answer I got was 25/38 because I added all of the numbers together and I got 38. Then I subtracted that by 13 because that is how many blues there are.

Mr. Giomini,
ReplyDeleteI got an answer of 25/38 because if there is 13 marbles out of the total 38 marbles then you would subtract the 13 from 38 and you get 25. Then you must make that a fraction so it would 25/38.
