Class Topics: 01.26.12

In EDM, students reviewed skills from Unit Five.  We looked back at our Unit Five Pre-test and began to deconstruct the assessment so that we could focus on the vocabulary in the questions.  Students solved problems that include the following skills: perimeter, area, proportional reasoning, volume and surface area.
In class, students..

  • reviewed the Unit Five Pre-test to help prepare for the Unit Five Summative Post-test.
  • critiqued a peer's work.
  • discussed the traits of a two and four point question.
For homework, students SHOULD...






In Pre-Algebra, we analyzed word problems that incorporated The Pythagorean Theorem.  Students were encouraged to construct diagrams to assist in solving the problem.  We also had a volunteer record a demonstration of how to solve a problem dealing with The Pythagorean Theorem.  
In class, students...
  • reviewed homework from last night.
  • discussed common areas of confusion with The Pythagorean Theorem.  
For homework, students SHOULD...
  • complete the final page of The Pythagorean Theorem packet.

    These videos helped me understand what I did wrong on the pretest. It also helped me regain memory on what will be on the post test.
