In EDM today, we worked on developing/translating algebraic expressions from verbal expressions.  Please refer to your Guided Notes tonight to help review the different words that correlate to mathematical operations.  Here is a website where you can practice.
Examples:                                                                 Algebraic Expression:
Twice a number increased by ten                             2y + 10
Three times a number decreased by five                  3k - 5
A number increased by 7                                          t + 7
p pizzas divided evenly amongst four                      p/4

In Pre-Algebra today, we reviewed dividing decimals when there is a decimal present in the divisor.  We modeled two different methods:
  1. Move the decimal in the divisor to create a new number and move it the same number of times in the dividend.
  2. Multiply both the dividend and divisor by a power of ten to get rid of the decimal in the divisor.
After some review, we introduced adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators
