In EDM, we received our Unit Two Formative Pretests back today. As a class, we examined one of the first Short Answer and Extended Response questions to see where we might have made an error. Once that was corrected, we began to divide decimals. We learned some vocabulary: dividend, divisor, and quotient. After understanding that division is much easier when you are good with your multiplication facts, we discussed where we could apply our new skill of dividing decimals into our daily lives.
Noah W: Buying goods
Noah G: Stats - Colt McCoy
Schwarz: Sharing toys with my BFFs
Antonio: Wait in line
Dennis: Sponsorships for a skateboard company
In Pre-Algebra today, we worked with exponential notation. This was a little review from fifth grade, but this lesson incorporated bases that were both positive and negative. Once the lesson concluded, we applied our new knowledge to some geometry.
