Class Topics: 09.26.11
In EDM today, we reviewed how to calculate sums and differences when adding and subtracting decimal numbers. We discussed and modeled how it is important to line up the decimal points when calculating the answers.
Students tend to have difficulties when the problem is written horizontally so this may be a good practice skill for home. 893.3 + 3.382 or 34.5 - 19.903
In Pre-Algebra today, we introduced integers into our algebraic equations. Solving one-step algebraic equations is review from unit one, but the use of integers is new. The hope is that this will solidify our skills a bit more when working with algebraic equations. It is important to remember the appropriate steps to solving the equations and placing our work on paper. PLAN OF ATTACK: SIMPLIFY ISOLATE SOLVE CHECK
