- Standard Notation - 6,800,000
- Expanded Notation - 6,000,000 + 800,000 = 6,800,000
- Number and Word Notation - 6.8 million
We then reviewed how to correctly say numbers like 14.845, fourteen AND eight hundred forty-five thousandths focusing in on the last digit and what value it resides in and using that as our last word.
In Pre-Algebra today, we continued our work with integers. The previous two days we worked with both adding and subtracting integers. Some examples are:
- -8 + (-7)
- 9 - (15)
- -46 - 87
- -17 - (-56)
After getting a handle on adding and subtracting, we progressed on to multiplying and dividing integers. This will help prepare us for next week as we begin to incorporate integers into our algebraic expressions and equations.
