Day 113: Math 6: Nets of Three-Dimensional Shapes - Math 6+: Discovering Circles and Pi

Math 6 students worked with Lesson 7.5: Represent Solid Figures Using Nets. During this lesson, students were introduced to the terms: face, edge, and vertex. These are all terms shared in the Topic Seven Geometry Quizlet.

Math 6+ students finally were able to get to work with circles today and hopefully uncover the secret to Pi.

Skills that were introduced, modeled, practiced, and informally/formally assessed today in class include:
Math 6:
  • Represent three-dimensional figures using nets made up of rectangles and triangles.
Math 6+:

  • Explore and understand the relationships among the circumference, diameter, area, and radius of a circle.
