Today in Math 6: 1 & 3°, students completed their Concept Three: Operations with Rational Numbers posttest.
During Math 6 - 2°, students continued to test their problem solving skills by completing a task that incorporated all of the major skills from Topic Four: Algebra - Coordinate Geometry.
Students in Math 6+ played a game called "Pressure Box" where they had to race to beat their colleagues to the answer of several review questions.
Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...
- solve real-world and mathematical problems by writing and solving equations. (1, 3, & 7°)
- interpret and compute quotients of fractions. (1, 3, & 7°)
- solve word problems involving division of fractions by fractions. (1, 3, & 7°)
- fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide multi-digit decimals using the standard algorithm for each operation. (1, 3, & 7°)
- apply and extend previous understandings of numbers to the system of rational numbers. (2°)
- identify and graph points with integer coordinates on the coordinate plane. (2°)
- draw polygons in the coordinate plane given coordinates for the vertices. (2°)
- use coordinates to find the length of a side joining points with the same first or second coordinate. (2°)
- fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers using the standard algorithm for each operation. (all classes)
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to complete:
- Math 6(1&3): Enjoy night off
- Math 6(2): Begin test preparation by reviewing material from Lesson 4.1 and 4.2
- Math 6+: Continue test preparation
- All Classes: m > 10 minutes meaningful practice at Khan Academy
