Today in Math 6: 1 & 3°, students reviewed the quiz from yesterday and Mr. Giomini clarified any areas of confusion for the students. Students then worked in assigned pairs to complete real-world story problems dealing with decimals to help provide a resource for review.
During Math 6 - 2°, students worked with Lesson 4.4: Polygons on the Coordinate Plane. Before beginning the lesson, Mr. Giomini asked students to work in small groups to create rules that all polygons must follow. Information was shared and polished up to create an accurate definition for polygons.
Students then completed a quick check dealing with Lesson 4.1. The remainder of time, students worked on Khan Academy and the skills that were assigned to help solidify their understanding of Topic Four.

Students in Math 6+ reviewed the practice assessment from yesterday's class. Mr. Giomini clarified any misconceptions that students may have had regarding the practice assessment and provided students with additional real-world problems to work on in preparation for next week's Topic Three posttest.
Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...
- solve real-world and mathematical problems by writing and solving equations. (1, 3, & 7°)
- apply and extend previous understandings of numbers to the system of rational numbers. (2°)
- identify and graph points with integer coordinates on the coordinate plane. (2°)
- fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers using the standard algorithm for each operation. (all classes)
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to complete:
- Math 6(1&3): Begin test preparation
- Math 6(2): Practice Buddy 4.3
- Math 6+: Begin test preparation
- All Classes: m > 10 minutes meaningful practice at Khan Academy
