Today in Math 6 - 1 & 3°, students were administered their Concept Two: Integers and Rational Numbers posttest.
During Math 6 - 2°, students first began a Quick Check dealing with Lesson 2.6: Write Inequalities. Students then worked with solving inequalities. Mr. Giomini modeled some for the students.
Students in Math 6+ received their Concept Two posttest back in class today. Mr. Giomini showed the students the box-and-whisker plot below and discussed how to read the class's results based on the graphical representation. Questions that caused a great deal of difficulty were modeled.
New Khan Skills for Concept Three: Operations with Rational Numbers were shared with students and time was allotted for students to begin working on them in class.
New Khan Skills for Concept Three: Operations with Rational Numbers were shared with students and time was allotted for students to begin working on them in class.
- reason about and solve one-variable equations and inequalities. (2°)
- solve real-world and mathematical problems by writing and solving equations of the form x + p = q and px = q for cases in which p, q and x are all non-negative rational numbers. (1 & 3°)
- understand ordering and absolute value of rational numbers. (1 & 3°)
- fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers using the standard algorithm for each operation. (all classes)
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to complete:
- Math 6 - 1 & 3: Enjoy the night off
- Math 6 - 2°: Page 123 in enVision wkbk
- Math 6+: Attempt a question Mr. Giomini posted to his Twitter account
- All Classes: m > 10 minutes meaningful practice at Khan Academy
This is Kanuganti. I think the answer for the exponent question is 5.
