Class Topics: 10.30.14

In Common Core Math Six today, students checked their Evening Practice with an answer key provided by Mr. Giomini.  A gallery walk was introduced to students to help them review for tomorrow's Chapter Four Midpoint Quiz.  Students circulated through several pieces of "mathematical art," providing their "interpretation" of the different works.  The "true interpretation" was shared with the students at each exhibit.  If time permitted, students completed a five question Kahoot to help review concepts from the chapter.

 

Today's Learning Goals: The student will be able to...

• fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide multi-digit decimals using the standard algorithm for each operation. 
• use variables to represent numbers.
• solve real-world and mathematical problems by writing and solving equations.  
• apply and extend previous knowledge with multiplication and division.

For Evening Practice, the student is expected to...

• complete page 17 and 22 in Chapter Four.
• review Lessons 4.1 through 4.6 for tomorrow's Chapter Four Midpoint quiz.
