Class Topics: 09.05.14

In Common Core Math Six today, students reviewed the textbook page assignment from last night's Evening Practice.  Mr. Giomini again split the class into eight different groups from Thursday and had them work in stations in the cafeteria or media center to help with test preparation for Monday's Chapter One Posttest.

Today's Learning Goals: The student should be able to...

• report the number of observations when given a data set.
• give quantitative measures of center and variability, as well as describe any overall pattern and any striking deviations from the overall pattern of the data.
• display numerical data in plots on a number line, including dot plots, histograms, and box plots.
• summarize numerical data sets in relation to their context, such as by giving quantitative measures of center and variability (interquartile range), as well as describing any overall pattern and any striking deviations from the overall pattern with references to the context in which the data were gathered.
