In Common Core Math Six today, Mr. Giomini reviewed the Chapter One Midpoint Quiz with the students.  Class looked at common successes and errors as well as revisited expectations on how sixth graders need to know basic addition and division skills in order to calculate mean.  Mr. Giomini then modeled how to complete the Weekend Practice Khan Skill: Exploring Mean and Median.

• recognize that a measure of center for a numerical data set summarizes all of the data with a single number, while a measure of variability describes how its values vary with a single number.
• calculate the mean absolute deviation for a data set using its data values and mean.
