Class Topics: 05.08.14

In , students reviewed Monday night's Evening Practice.  Class was backlogged due to allocating time for the Learwood Test and Spring Concert practice.  Mr. Giomini introduced, modeled, and practiced alongside students Lesson 12.4: Linear Functions.

Class focused on some terminology: linear equation and linear function.  Students had to opportunity to graph linear functions which is seen on next Wednesday's Chapter Twelve Midpoint Quiz.

The fastest-moving tectonic plates on Earth move apart at a rate of 15 centimeters per year. Scientists began studying two parts of these plates when they were 30 centimeters apart. How far apart will the two parts be after 4 years?

Students in 2, 3, and used ClassMarker to complete their Learwood Test.  Students had two opportunities to earn their highest possible score.

Pictured below is Mr. Rocco; he might be your seventh grade Common Core Math Seven teacher next year. He is a Jedi when it comes to mathematics, cross country, and track.

Today's Learning Targets: The student will be able to...
    • use a linear function to complete a table.
    • identify linear equations.
    • graph a linear function.
  • 2, 3, and
    • input answers into ClassMarker.
    • reflect on incorrect answers and attempt to answer them correctly a second time.
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to...
