In class, students...
- collaborated with peers to complete a construction task.
- generated effective feedback to assist a peer in completing a task.
For homework, students SHOULD...
- work on RAFT Writing Activity (First and Third Period Only).
- practice the following Khan Academy skills to front-load for the Unit Six Formative Pretest.
Monica, Grace and Cat Girl are busy constructing. |
Shark Boy can work both in and out of the water with a ruler. |
The two S's measure with precision. |
In Pre-Algebra, students worked with volume, specifically Lesson 6.6: Volume of Prisms and Cylinders. We discussed what makes a prism a prism and learned that it is a three-dimensional figure named for the shape of its bases which are two congruent polygons. After introducing the formulas we talked about how they are applied to calculate for volume.
In class, students...
- viewed a video on finding volume.
- applied the formula for volume of a prism and cylinder to problem situations.
- worked on Problem Solving 6.6.
For homework, students SHOULD...
- complete Problem Solving 6.6.
A little taste of the application of
the skill from today.
