Class Topics: 11.18.11

In EDM, students took the Unit Four Formative Assessment - Rational Number Uses and Operations.  This unit addresses the skills listed:

  • creating equivalent fractions
  • comparing fractions
  • computing sums and differences for fraction and mixed number computations
  • converting fractions, decimals, and percents
  • finding the specific percent of a number
    • For HW this weekend, I want students to view and comment on the following two videos
COMPARING FRACTIONS
ADDING FRACTIONS

In Pre-Algebra, students displayed data sets in numerous ways based on what the data involved.  Our focus was frequency tables, histograms, bar graphs, and line graphs.  
  • Classwork: Lesson 4.5 Power Point - Displaying Data
  • HW: Construct a double line graph utilizing the data in one of the tables below.  The double line graph must incorporate the following -
    • Appropriate Title
    • Labels for both the x and y axis
    • Appropriate intervals for the y-axis
    • Two inferences made in relationship to the data.

    I think this web sight is the same as Mr. Citro taught us so I'm used to this a little bit. The way he did it was almost like what Mr. Citro did by having a common denominater.

    in the first video he talked about how you can multiply and divide mandy fractions to get a simple fraction.in the second video they talked how you can add a bunch of fractions to get a mixed fractions. from kyle arends

    These videos helped me immensely. They significantly refreshed my memory. I observed a very interesting thng the male did when reducing fractions. I am definetly considering using his way of reducing fractions. These videos were eminent
