In
EDM today, we began our Unit One Summative Assessment. This is the first major assessment of the year. The students will be given additional time tomorrow to complete the test. Below are the skills that are being tested on the summative exam:
calculating mean
sorting data to identify the median
locating the mode in a set of data
constructing a double-line graph
interpreting data and drawing inferences from a histogram
constructing a line plot and stem-and-leaf plot using a data table
In
Pre-Algebra today, we
examined our mistakes on the Chapter One Summative Assessment. An area that we struggled on was
creating algebraic equations when given a story problem such as:
The length of Lake Ontario is 193 miles, which is 48 miles less than the length of Lake Huron. How many miles long is Lake Huron?
We
analyzed the spreadsheet that
showed the class' common errors on the test. After
discussion, we took the Chapter Two Pretest which will appear on
Gradebook Wizard tonight.
