Day 125: Recognize Statistical Questions

Students in Math 6 and Math 6+ worked with recognizing statistical questions beginning our Data Analysis and Statistics Topic. The discussion centered around the question of: What's the difference between a statistical and non-statistical question? In partnerships, students worked to sort through different questions to determine if they were either a statistical or non-statistical question. Once the lesson was discussed, they had an opportunity to adjust their groupings.

Math 6 and Math 6+:
  • Recognize and formulate a statistical question as one that anticipates variability and can be answered with quantitative data.
