Math 6 and Math 6+ students reviewed calculating the area of the various polygons that we have discussed in class: square, rectangle, rhombus, parallelogram, triangle, and trapezoid. The classes then applied that knowledge to find the area of irregular polygons by decomposing them into various shapes that are familiar to us.
At the conclusion of the lesson, students completed a Socrative to assess their current level of understanding.
