Day 62: Math 6 - Khan Catch-up / Math 6+ - Working with Proportions

Math 6 students had one-on-one conferences with Mr. Giomini regarding their Topic Four Post-test results from Friday. While that was taking place, students had an opportunity to work towards their quarter two Khan goal of 66% mastery of sixth grade skills.

Math 6+ students continued their work with solving proportions by working with a colleague.

Standards addressed today in class:
Math 6:
  • Fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide multi-digit decimals using the standard algorithm for each operation.
  • Find the greatest common factor of two whole numbers less than or equal to 100 and the least common multiple of two whole numbers less than or equal to 12.
  • Understand solving an equation or inequality as a process of answering a question: which values from a specified set, if any, make the equation or inequality true?
  • Use substitution to determine whether a given number in a specified set makes an equation or inequality true.
  • Analyze the relationship between the dependent and independent variables using graphs and tables, and relate these to the equation.
Math 6+:
  • Represent proportional relationships by equations.
