Day 37: Finish Quiz - Write Algebraic Expressions

In Math 6 and Math 6+ were offered an additional 10 minutes to complete their quiz from last Wednesday.

Once that was completed, Mr. Giomini modeled and explained examples from Lesson 3.4: Write Algebraic Expressions. Students were presented with information in a table format similar to the video posted below and were asked to create expressions based on the information displayed.

Lesson Objectives: The student will be able to...
  • write and evaluate numerical expressions involving whole-number exponents.
  • write, read, and evaluate expressions in which letters stand for numbers.
  • write expressions that record operations with numbers and with letters standing for numbers.
  • identify parts of an expression using mathematical terms (sum, term, product, factor, quotient, coefficient).
