Day 73: Gizmo / Patterns and Equations / Proportion Challenge

Today in Math 6: 1 & 3°, students reviewed their evening practice from last night and then began a Gizmo: Road Trip, reviewing unit rates before we get into unit conversions tomorrow.

During Math 6 - 2°, students reviewed their evening practice from last night which involved writing equations for given function tables. Students then worked independently to complete a Study Buddy online dealing with skills from Lesson 5.2.

Students in Math 6+ worked on some challenge problems dealing with solving proportions.  This independent assignment was then taken for grade.

Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...
  1. use ratio and rate reasoning to solve real-world and mathematical problems.  (1, 3, and 7°)
  2. analyze the relationship between dependent and independent variables using graphs and tables. (2°)
  3. use variables to represent two quantities in a real-world problem that change in relationship to one another.  (2°)
  4. fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers using the standard algorithm for each operation. (all classes)
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to complete:
  1. Math 6(1&3°): Page 33 and finish Gizmo (Parts A and B only)
  2. Math 6(2°): Page 237 and  Patterns and Equations - Quick Check
  3. Math 6+: Digital handout (1 - 10)  CLICK HERE
  4. All Classes: > 10 minutes meaningful practice at Khan Academy
