Class Topics: 04.24.15

In Math Six today, Mr. Giomini and the students reviewed last night's evening practice.  The remainder of class was dedicated to students writing and solving equations when given different scenarios.  



Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...
  1. understand solving an equation or inequality as a process of answering a question: which values from a specified set, if any, make the equation or inequality true?
  2. use substitution to determine whether a solution makes an equation or inequality true.
  3. determine the central ideas or conclusions of a text.  
  4. provide an accurate summary of the text from prior knowledge and opinions.  
  5. analyze the author's purpose in providing an explanation, describing a procedure, or discussing an experiment in a text.
For Weekend Practice, the student is expected to complete...
  1. two-step equations seven through twelve.  
  2. 45 minutes of meaningful practice at Khan Academy.
