Class Topics: 04.01.15

In Math Six, students continued their work in Part Eight - Volume and Surface Area by completing a Quick Check dealing with finding surface for a three-dimensional shape.

Mr. Giomini went through the answers from yesterday's activity regarding surface area to help students see where they succeeded and where they struggled.  Once that activity was complete, students were given some challenge problems dealing with calculating the surface area for L-shaped prisms.

Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...
  1. represent three-dimensional figures using nets made up of rectangles and triangles.
  2. use the nets to find the surface area of these figures.
  3. find the volume of a right rectangular prism with fractional edge lengths.
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to complete...
  1. 15 minutes of meaningful practice on Khan Academy.
  2. begin preparation for the Part Eight posttest on 04.15.15.
