In EDM, students dissected some of the commonly missed questions from yesterday's Discovery Education Assessment. Students viewed their results are were able to see their progress from our first assessment back in September.
Students identified parallel lines and angle relationships in Lesson 5.9. We discussed skew lines and brainstormed where one may find skew lines, complementary and supplementary angles.

- view the video posted below.
- review Guided Notes for Lesson 5.3 and 5.4.
- complete any task that was not completed in class for homework depending on the group you were working with at the time.
In Pre-Algebra, students began to explore how to find the area of triangles and trapezoids by using a parallelogram. We reviewed the concepts introduced in Guided Notes 6.2: Perimeter and Area of Triangles and Trapezoids.
In class, students...
- modeled how to find the area of a triangle using a square.
- discussed how diagonals dissect shapes from one vertice to a non-adjacent vertice.
- explained how the area of a trapezoid is half of the area of a parallelogram.
