Class Field Trip: Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Today, we ventured out of Troy and into the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.  Here the students were able to examine the different types of rock formations, specimens of trees, lichen that grew on the rocks, and trek through the words for over an hour.  At the end of the field trip, we learned that the park was formed during one of the Ice Ages when glaciers carved out the valley.  We were told that the glacier was over 4,000 feet wide and weighed roughly fifty pounds per cubic foot!
