Today in Math 6: 1 & 3°, students reviewed some basic proportions by completing a Quick Check upon arriving in class. Mr. Giomini then modeled proportions that incorporated the distributive property and where more than one variable appeared. Students then completed a Kahoot! that helped with practicing the new skill.
Students in Math 6+ reviewed a list of skills that they are going to be assessed on Wednesday, January 6th. Mr. Giomini presented five problems to the class for them to solve independently. Algorithms were shared that the students created with their peers to help review and clarify concepts.
Today's Learning Target(s): The student will be able to...
- create and solve a proportion for problems dealing with indirect measurement. (1,3, and 7 °)
- analyze the relationship between dependent and independent variables using graphs and tables. (2°)
- graph linear equations. (2°)
- use variables to represent two quantities in a real-world problem that change in relationship to one another. (2°)
- make tables of equivalent ratios relating quantities with whole-number measurements. (7°)
- find missing values in tables and plot pairs of values on the coordinate plane. (7°)
- fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers using the standard algorithm for each operation. (all classes)
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to complete:
- Math 6(1&3°): Handout from Mr. Giomini
- Math 6(2°): Prepare for tomorrow's posttest
- Math 6+: Handout from Mr. Giomini
