Class Topics: 01.27.14

In Common Core Math Six during 1, 3, and , students reviewed a few skills before completing the Chapter Six - Percents Posttest.

During , students reviewed the answers to the Weekend Practice.  Mr. Giomini then introduced Lesson 5.7: Scale Drawings and Scale Models.  During this lesson, we took our knowledge of creating proportions from problem situations and applied it to problems dealing maps and scale drawing of buildings.  Below is an example of the type of problem that we explored.

On a map of Florida, the distance between Hialeah and Tampa is 10.5 cm.  What is the 
actual distance between the cities if the map scale is 3 cm = 80 mi?
