Class Topics: 04.04.14

In Common Core Math Six today, students in 13, and 4° conferenced individual with Mr. Giomini to discuss their individual Chapter Nine Posttest results.  While Mr. Giomini was taking with students at his desk, the remaining students worked on the previewing Chapter Eleven: Equations and Inequalities using skills selected by Mr. Giomini.

                             

During , students reviewed Thursday's Evening Practice from Lesson 8.7.  Class was divided into two groups where students worked in smaller clusters to solve real-world application problems dealing with the area of rectangles, triangles, and trapezoids.

Today's Learning Goals: The student will be able to...
  • 1, 3, and 4° - 
    • read an inequality.  
    • use the distributive property to simplify an equation.
  •  - 
    • calculate the area of rectangles, triangles, and trapezoids.
    • label answer using the appropriate measures.  
For Evening Practice, the student is expected to...
  • 1, 3, and 4° - 
    • use textbook page 557 to complete the introduction to Chapter Eleven: "Are You Ready?". 
  •  - 
    • complete Lesson 8.3 Problem Solving.
    • complete two Khan Mastery Challenges.
